Evidence-based educational workshops and family support programming for caregivers of children with special needs, improving advocacy skills,family stability and access to services across NYC & New York
"The Bridge from Pre-K to Kindergarten"
This workshop breaks down the process of transitioning from CPSE to CSE services. Participants gain transitioning skills that bridge gaps between school and parent, setting up families for success.
“Get to know your IEP”
Part 1 ,2 & 3
Participants explore how to read their child’s IEP, the meaning of key terms, and the roles of everyone involved in IEP meetings. A sample IEP guides families through each section, pointing out important areas and simple definitions to support their understanding.
"Our Own Village"
This workshop is for participants left to navigate the special education system alone or with little support outside of the school setting . We explore what it means to have a child that requires special education services . Our goal is to give participants the tools to support one another through experiences and activities. Groups are formed to give participants support after workshops in order to kick start a genuine community that may be difficult to start alone.
